Indian Visa from France
By: Tiasha Chatterjee
Indian government has made it quick and simple to apply for an Indian visa from France. French citizens may now apply for an Indian visa online from the comfort of their homes thanks to the advent of the eVisa. French residents can travel to India electronically using an eVisa.
French eVisa Requirements
India must be at the top of your list whether you are searching for a destination for your upcoming holiday or an economy to invest in.
India is now ranked seventh (7th) in the world for travel and tourism, but according to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), it will rank third (3rd) by 2028. In the meantime, the nation will increase the number of employment in the industry, which is presently at approximately 42.9 million, by almost 10 million.
The Taj Mahal, one of the seven (7) wonders of the world, 35 UNESCO heritage sites, of which 27 are cultural and 8 are natural, and delectable Indian cuisine are all to thank for the country's surge in tourism.
Other areas of the Indian economy, particularly the IT sector, are expanding just like the tourism industry. It already has South Asia's largest economy, and future growth is expected. It is therefore the best nation for French nationals to invest in.
You require India e-Tourist Visa (eVisa India or Indian Visa Online) to witness the amazing places and experiences as a foreign tourist in India. Alternatively, you could be visiting India on an India e-Business Visa and want to do some recreation and sightseeing in northern India and the foothills of the Himalayas. The Indian Immigration Authority encourages visitors to India to apply for Indian Visa Online (India e-Visa) rather than visiting Indian Consulate or Indian Embassy.
Do Holders of French Passports Require A Visa To Enter India?
Like most other nations, holders of French passports need a visa to enter India. Prior to 2014, it was possible to get a visa on arrival, however, the Indian government stopped the scheme. Currently, French nationals can apply for an electronic visa online or via the Indian embassy to get an eVisa (India eVisa).
Those who want to travel to India for a brief duration can get an eVisa. French nationals can obtain an electronic visa for India that is good for a single stay of up to 90 days and cannot be extended. It can be used for leisure, business, or medicinal needs.
French residents may apply whenever and from anywhere they choose because the whole application procedure is done online, if they have all the necessary paperwork on hand. Each application is processed in around 20 to 30 minutes total, and the applicant receives the decision through email in about two business days. It is advised that you register for the visa several weeks before your flight date.
The latest you may apply is four days before your departure, though. You can fly to and from 24 specified airports and 3 seaports using an eVisa. These include all significant airports, including those in Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai. Booking your flights to these particular airports is crucial since they have the equipment to accept and allow entrance to people with eVisas.
