Indian Visa from Japan

By: Tiasha Chatterjee

The Indian government has made it quick and simple to apply for an Indian visa from Japan. Japanese citizens may now apply for an Indian visa online from the comfort of their homes thanks to the advent of the eVisa.  Japanese residents can travel to India electronically using an eVisa.

Japanese citizens must obtain an electronic visa to visit India - Requirements for Indian eVisa

Holders of Japanese passports who want to visit India can apply for an online visa, often known as an Indian eVisa. The three subcategories of the Indian visa for Japanese nationals are the e-tourist visa, e-business visa, and e-medical visa. Therefore, a Japanese national must apply for an Indian e-visa before departure if the trip is either for business, medical reasons, or tourism. When tourists fill out an online form with areas for their passport information and personal information, they can easily receive the visa.

You require India e-Tourist Visa (eVisa India or Indian Visa Online) to witness the amazing places and experiences as a foreign tourist in India. Alternatively, you could be visiting India on an India e-Business Visa and want to do some recreation and sightseeing in northern India and the foothills of the Himalayas. The Indian Immigration Authority encourages visitors to India to apply for Indian Visa Online (India e-Visa) rather than visiting Indian Consulate or Indian Embassy.

Do holders of Japanese passports require a visa to enter India?

An eVisa is required for admission into India for Japanese nationals. The applicant must have a passport that is valid for at least six (6) months beyond the anticipated date of arrival in India before submitting an eVisa application.

The applicant's passport must include at least two (2) blank pages so that border control officials can stamp the applicant's immigration status both upon entry and upon departure. The kind of India eVisa determines the duration of the visa.

For an e-business visa, the visit cannot go longer than 180 days. Japanese nationals who hold a business visa for India have a one (1) -year validity period starting on the date of approval.

However, a Japanese citizen's e-tourist visa to India may have a validity period of up to 180 days.

Last but not least, Japanese nationals can enter India for 60 days using an e-medical visa.

Japanese citizens who have applied for an Indian eVisa are required to keep a copy of their approved electronic Indian visa on them at all times while they are in India in order to prevent legal issues.

What are the Japan Citizens' Visa Requirements for India?

To prevent wasting application fees and being ineligible, applicants must ascertain what is necessary before applying for the Indian visa for Japanese nationals. After it has been processed and electronically issued, the applicant will receive the electronic visa for Japanese citizens by email.

Only when the passenger lands in India at the airport will the biometric data be collected. At the port of entry, the passport will be stamped.
